They have co-written songs like “Weed and Whiskey,” “Rust and Red” and “Fifty Fifty.” In 2013, the pair wrote “This Beard Came Here to Party,” which was the theme song of the Boston Red Sox as they fought to a World Series championship. Montana has also collaborated and performed with Billy Gibbons many times.
Montana has opened for Kid Rock and co-written two singles for his “Sweet Southern Sugar” album, one being the top 10 country hit “Tennessee Mountain Top”. In 2008 he performed his song “Butte America on the Late Show with Dave Letterman. Montana began playing the guitar at 6 years old. The crowd was quickly fired up with his style of Southern rock and outlaw country. Opening the show was Tim Montana and Company. The hometown feel was a great way to kick off the summer! It was a fabulous evening of country, Southern rock and American soul that reminds you where your heart should be and renews the sprit. The performance ended with song “Am I The Only One?”, which was released July 4,2021 as a protest to America’s leadership. After playing the Staind hit “Outside”, Lewis spoke of his frustration with current events. Next, he stated that this is not usually what this part of show is reserved for and interacted with the audience then played part of “Purple Rain”, and then “Iconic” by Alantis Morissette. Titles included were “Pull Me Under”, “Everybody Talks to God” and “They Call Me Doc”, which Lewis specified was written by a medic that did eight tours of duty. Playing titles off the Frayed at Both Ends album which released in January. After taking a slight break they returned as an acoustic duo. Later in the set were more hits from the earlier days including “The Road”, “God & Guns”, “Mama”, “If I were a Liberal” and “That AIn’t Country”. Lewis also played Staind favorites such as “Right Here” and “It’s Been a While”. Then came other hits such as “Sinner”, “Granddadd’ys Gun”, “It Keeps on Workin’”. Starting off with his hit “Country Boy” the audience instantly began singing along. Chants of “USA” were heard throughout the evening. The American theme was fully represented with a flag backdrop, blue and red lighting, and starbursts of light later in the set. Lewis began their performance with a fabulous rendition of “The Pledge of Allegiance” and the entire crowd joined in. And Lewis’ single “Am I The Only One” debuted on Billboard’s #1 Hot Country Song. He has claimed two #1 Billboard Country Album debuts for his albums Town Line and Sinner. Since then, Lewis has recorded with George Jones, Charlie Daniels, Vince Gill, Alison Krauss, and Ben Haggard. His debut EP Town Line was released in 2011. Beginning in 2010, he has pursued a solo career in country music. Introduced to country music by his grandfather as a child, Lewis’ interest was rekindled when he toured with fellow rock and occasional country singer Kid Rock. One can tell, he was definitely made to be a musician.
